AWARDS PROCESS How winners are selected

The People of the Year Awards is Ireland’s longest running awards event, now in its 43 year.

Based on nominations received from the public, the People of the Year Awards honours unsung heroes who have made a difference in the lives of other.

Chosen by the public through an open nominations process, the winners are then finalised by an independent adjudicating committee comprising members of RTÉ, Rehab, former winners, community, charity, business, public and media sectors.

All the winners of the People of the Year Awards are nominated by the public and are then selected by a panel of adjudicators.

The People of the Year Awards is not a public voting system, meaning that winners are not selected based on the number of nominations they receive.

The number of nominations an individual(s) or group receives has no bearing on the adjudicating process. Multiple nominations do not favour an individual(s) or groups.

Once an individual(s) or group is nominated, they are considered by the adjudicating panel.

We look forward to seeing all your nominations – best of luck!
